My #1 Network Marketing Mindset
For many years I've lived by a certain mindset in Network Marketing:
"Lead, Follow, Or Get Out Of The Way!"
I didn't always have this mindset. I used to hang on every word of what my prospects said. I used to think, "Please join my business" or "Why don't they like my company/product/service." I would spend countless hours early in my career trying to figure people out. Finally, I adopted a new philosophy. I said to myself, "Prospects are going to ether lead, follow, or get the heck out of my way." That mindset allowed me to become MUCH more effective at recruiting because people aren't attracted to someone that "needs" them. They're attracted to a leader. I didn't become rude on the phone, I just became less "needy".
I focused more on educating and exposing and stopped worrying so much about what people did or didn't do.
This same mindset helped me with leading an organization too. Unfortunately, not all team members are going to do what they say they are. Worse, not all are going to live up to their potential.
The hardest thing to watch is people who you know have all the capability in the world but they just don't have a dream big enough to push them to take action.
